Hello! I'm Anna.
I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and moved to the United States as a toddler in a bright blue onesie. Today, I live in New York City, where I work as an art director and spend my off-hours writing about slavic vampire lore.
I graduated the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia, and earned my MFA from New York University in 2014.
My writing is primarily concerned with folktales, the roles of women, and what magic can tell us about the world we live in. My chapbook, The White Swallow, is available now, and I am at work on a novel.
As a designer, I seek to produce accessible, clean, beautiful work. I am drawn to projects that help to interrogate established power structures and social inequalities, and I love working with organizations devoted to the arts. 🍞🌹
